Much of my artwork is meant to combine and juxtapose the colorful hallmarks of our childhood against the serious, often overwhelming challenges of our adult lives. In this piece, I take a break from those more serious themes and run with an idea given to me by an eight-year-old student of mine—specifically, “What goes on in a world where dragons poop rainbows?”
The landscape is decorated with those whimsical imaginings of children that seem so real and tangible to their developing minds, with everything from a unicorn and narwhal becoming best friends to a knight riding a cow (who is, in turn, riding a flying carpet).
If art is meant to convey a message, then this piece says, “Let’s take a minute to relax and be a little silly.
Dragon Poop- Print
No print can truly catch the beauty and luster of paint on canvas, but these prints come closer than any others! The prints are made with high-quality archival pigments that are designed to last over 200 years, and are printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper—top-shelf paper crafted by a venerable German manufacturer that has been in operation since 1584.
Prints are signed by Zackery Chapman, the artist.
